Somatic Therapy
(50 Minutes)
Healing isn't only about understanding your thoughts. It's also about learning to listen to your body.
As a therapist, I use somatic therapy to help you understand the connection between your thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and nervous system. When you've experienced trauma, chronic stress, anxiety, or overwhelming emotions, your body can continue responding as though you're in danger—even when you logically know you're safe. Together, I help you recognize those responses and understand what your body may be communicating.
In our work, I may guide you through grounding, breathwork, mindfulness, movement, body awareness, and nervous-system regulation to help you become more aware of what you're experiencing in real time. Rather than simply talking about why you feel anxious, overwhelmed, disconnected, or on edge, we'll work with those sensations as they happen and build practical ways for you to regulate and respond differently. My goal is to help you feel more connected to yourself, more capable of managing difficult emotions, and less controlled by automatic reactions.
You don't have to spend your entire life trying to think your way out of feelings your body is still carrying. Somatic therapy gives us another way to work through them—at a pace that feels safe, manageable, and appropriate for you.
